From Utklippan to Stockholm

We rest for a while at Utklippan. The next morning, SY Blue Layla continues north through the Kalmar Strait and then into the archipelago, where we find our way to the tranquil Klintemåla.

The wind is mainly from the front until Stockholm:

Klintemåla: Here we weather a thunderstorm – including a lightning strike next to the jetty, which paralyzes the shore power supply.

From Klintemåla, the journey continues through the Archipelago Sea to Södertälje, where SY Blue Layla is locked into Lake Mälaren. Below: The old lime works on Lake Oaxen.

From Lake Mälaren it is only a short distance to the city centre of Stockholm: one lock and two drawbridges later, SY is safely moored in Stockholm’s old town.

From Stockholm we now set off for the Åland Islands.
