From Stockholm to the Åland Islands

From Stockholm, SY Blue Layla winds its way through the archipelago and out onto the Åland Sea. Stops include Kyrkogårdsö (a former cemetery and artillery emplacement), Gräddö (for refueling), and Arholma.

On Arholma, we anchor between other yachts seeking peace and quiet – the European Football Championship final is being broadcast to the neighboring Swedish boat, where the sangria is flowing freely:

The island of Arholma is a common jumping-off point for crossing the Åland Sea, which today shows its tame side:

From the Åland Islands we now head to the Swedish part of the Gulf of Bothnia.
